ACTIVITIES of the South Walker Church Family

Family Night

The last Sunday night of each month is our Family Night with an extended singing service and devotional. Following our worship hour is a happy time when we enjoy fellowship and a covered dish meal.  (5:00 pm)
Whiz Kids       Each school year we adopt students from nearby Parmelee Elementary to tutor in reading. This successful program has helped close the gap between their reading level and their grade level the last 9 years.  The more mentors that volunteer, the more students we can serve.   (Mondays after school, 3:00 pm)
Mens' Breakfast

The second Saturday of each month, the men of the congregation enjoy an informal time of fellowship at Favorites Restaurant @ 59th & Western (8:00 am). The younger crowd join us for some "me and grandpa time" or "Dirty Santa" fun.
AWTG

South Walker's Youth Group and their special guests participate in the Area Wide Teen Gathering programs hosted by churches in Ada, Shawnee, Tecumseh, Seminole, Moore, and Oklahoma City. During the school year we meet the first Sunday evening of each month. The Summer Series generally meets every Monday night.

Outreach Teams Four teams take a turn each month making visits to those who visit our services or who are experiencing illness or life situations.  Our shut-ins also enjoy a timely visit from a friendly couple in their church family.

Neighborhood Watch The South Walker Neighborhood Watch Association meets in our Fellowship Hall the first Monday of every month. Safety and crime prevention are discussed as families in the community get to know each other. Speakers include municipal leaders and police and fire officials.
